The East Coast General Information

Bicheno:A small town on the East Coast , Bicheno is home to a variety of wildlife native to Tasmania. Because of this , both the East Coast Bird Life Park and the Sea Life Centre are located here. If you are interested in the Tasmanian fauna , visiting Bicheno is a must.


Freycinet National Park covers most of the Freycinet Peninsula, just south of the town of Coles Bay. In addition to the natural beauty of the area (including such highlights as Wineglass Bay) there are regularly whales to be seen offshore. The east coast of Tasmania was once noted for its whaling , but now that this has ceased the whales the move along the coast have become a major tourist attraction.
